One would think after 10 years I would have something "incredible" to say on my "about me" page but here I am. Mind is drawing a major ______________.
Let's start here. I am married to Brian, when we got engaged my friends swore "you two are perfect for each other." I agree. Now, after 2 little girls, 4 moves, and 14 years of marriage I can tell you I knew we were perfect for each other from the beginning. I remember him walking into my college class and swear it was love at first sight, her remembers seeing me in my first car, 1958 Rambler, and feeling the same. Hello 1999. When you know, you know--- hence the reason I get a little teary at all the weddings I photograph. I love seeing people in love.
I live in Bozeman, Montana- damn, it's so beautiful here. We really have a good thing going on. I work all over the state but typically travel to Billings several times a month for photography sessions. Yes, I use to live in Billings. Yes, I use to own Ca-Layla Boutique. Yes, someday I will own another boutique- just don't tell Brian yet. These things we work him into slowly and the chances of him finding this page, on my website are slim to none. He has mastered the art of adoring me without finding my webpage.
I love podcasts, particularly Radiolab. I love Mango Mint Kombucha. My kids and husband play so much hockey it would make the normal person scream. I love to eat at Lilac when I am back in Billings. My favorite city is New York. Favorite beach would be Isla Mujeres. My girls are Calli (tender) and Layla (sassy) and although I am an Eric Clapton fan and love the song Layla, that is not where we got the name (college professor's daughter). It's a common question with a daughter named Layla, let's just say that. And every doctor I have taken her to sings it to her in the exam room. No joke. My favorite concert was Trevor Hall. Favorite kiss was New Years 2015.
I love to cook. Love food. Love watching documentaries. I will someday go to Grace in Chicago. My favorite weekday recipe is Jerk Tacos. I have been a nurse for 14 years. I know I just threw you for a loop right there huh? Well you're still reading so I had to keep you interested. I have worked as a nurse primarily in Labor and Delivery as well as the NICU. I have done a lot of nursing at times in my life and also put it on hold to do more photography or open a boutique. I definitely have an odd mix of right brain/left brain that keeps me craving creativity but also structure.
I graduated with only 30 people and love the little small town I sprouted from in Wyoming.
I love that so many of my clients are now great friends and after 10 years I still have a burning passion to be behind the camera.
I love the opportunity to meet new people every day and knock their socks off with darling pictures.
I love what I do.
With Sunshine and Kisses,
"Breathe, my friend. You are not old, you are young. You are not a mess, you are normal. Extraordinary, perhaps. In the blink of an eye your life will change. And it will continue to change for decades to come. Enjoy it, embrace it... be grateful for the ride. You are not old, you are young. And Faith will get you everywhere. Just you wait."
